I thoroughly enjoyed the show from beginning to end. The quality of the DVD/CD set is excellent. Josh has such an amazing voice. Josh is a gifted entertainer with a great sense of humor. My review of this release-simply fantastic. I went to see him in concert at The Pond in Anaheim and I had somewhat decent seats (on side of stage high up). This DVD and CD brings back the wonderful memories of seeing Josh in concert.
The uncompressed Audio via Blu-ray is great, even though I wish they would have taken advantage of the gobs of space available in blu-ray, to add more content to the disc.Bottomline, I really enjoyed the product and would buy it again, for the price. I no longer buy DVDs, after experiencing the clarity and quality of blu-ray. Thus when I heard that Josh Groban's AWAKE was released as a blu-ray, I did not think twice about springing for it.Sure, there is premium pricing but that is the price that one pays, when one wants to take advantage of using the product right away.One thing I need to point out is that the video footage is a bit grainy at times and this is probably par for the course, in such live events, where you cannot bathe the entire stage in light, to avoid the graininess.
Fans will not feel let down - but, in terms of format, I suppose it may come down to what you feel able to afford. However, two other reviewers have commented on the downsides that I also see - firstly that it is a fairly bland concert with no real pizzaz and secondly that I can see no reason to have paid for the Blu-ray disc when it is almost discernible from the standard DVD. This is a very good concert. The guy is immensely likable and very talented.
I liked the cd very much. The Cd was shipped quick and was brand new.
I must tell you that Working for The Philadelphia Spectrum for many years we had Josh Groban Last year at our Wachovia Center for the first time and I was so pleased that he was so nice backstage to everyone something that many performrs are not.Just for that reason and a great voice to boot get this dvd.One Thing I must say is that I think Blu Ray discs were suppose to be so much more than regular dvd,s but as prices fall I find that the companies are skimping on the material that Blu Ray can Hold which is in excess of 7 times what a regular dvd can.Get with the program Motion Picture Companies Blu Ray is special lets keep it that way
